Is Bikram Yoga for beginners?

I want to try Bikram Yoga because I want to get fit and I heard it is really healthy. I am worried because I don't exercise as much, I am starting to lift weights. Plus I never done regular Yoga in a long time. Do I need to do anything to prepare myself before I start taking classes? And what are the benefits in doing Bikram compared to yoga or pilates?

  1. I do a form of Power Yoga by Diamond Dallas Page called YRG. It is yoga based but they added in other exercise movements to get you in your fat burning zone and help tone your body. They sell DVD's or have online videos at www.GreatDrills.com They have a modifications section so you can start out at a beginners level and increase your workout when you are ready.

    I do it from home 4 times a week and was able to cut out my running which was a relief on my knees and back.
