Homework and Yoga? Okay, everyday, when I get home from school, I feel very not-settled-down, and that makes it hard to concentrate. Is there something simple and easy like yoga that can help me settle down and concentrate on homework? Also, I usually have a lot of homework assignments so is there, like, a yoga exercise (or something like a quick exercise) that can let me rest a bit between homework assignments?
DOING YOGA - is it bad or good ??? In the wake of comments about Yoga and its illfate that it can remove the protection to your spirit from evil spriits....I just wanted to share with you my thots.....you may find them useful lemme hope... As a senior person 56 yrs doing yoga for the past so many yrs, I am having a site for the spread of naturopathy and yoga exclusively for the past 5 yrs, www.sunflowerdance.com. Ordinary Yoga which the masses go in for in UK or USA or anywhere consists of simple exercises or postures in which u relax without exerting speed or much pressure. It helps to send blood flow to various parts of the body and keeps the body in good shape. THERE IS NO DOUBT. millions of books now declare that Yoga is not a religion, but a scientifically invented technique for keeping up good health. it comes from CHINA , JAPAN AND INDIA. It is not against any other religion. But occult sciences, astral travel, voodooism, and advanced meditation may be a risky venture and not for ALL. -parameswarand all the answers are crisp and sharp and it shows the spirit of the people--- alert -- Excelsio! And U filosopher: U R Really right, when U said that : Meditation helps cure the Mind and the Spirit. I agree with you. I got this experience and it was wonderful to get rid of stress.--d param
exercise ball / yoga? questions can be answered separately or mutually. (: ONE: mk. i have an exercise ball. but all i've been doing on it is crunches; 200 every other day. i want to shape out my body some more, if that makes sense. i don't know what else to do besides crunches with it. does anyone have any effective workouts i can perform using an exercise ball? TWO: i've been wanting to do some softcore yoga, since i have anxiety/depression and i'd like to lower some of my stress levels while getting a good exercise. does anyone have any tips or exercises that i can do? just simple ones that could actually make a difference in both my mind and body?
Body shakes during intense and non-intense workouts? My friend and I were in track the year before and our coach was pretty hard on us. Let's just put it this way... we used the same equipment the football team used (but to a lesser extent, of course; we weren't looking to build giganto muscles). We don't do track now; we exercise in moderation and the intensity varies. However, on both occasions and during track, we had problems with shaking. Not uncontrollably, but there was some shaking. Even when we do simple ab exercises, that could be enough to trigger shaking as we EXHALE. Yeah, it's usually when we do ab exercises that these happen, or when Yoga or Pilates are involved. I imagine it's because we're not used to working certain parts of our body, but after sometime, shouldn't our tolerance for pain or whatever it is increase? What's going on? I'd rather not have it checked by a doctor because I don't think it's serious, but maybe there are other explanations for this, other than the idea that we're overworking ourselves.
Can you mix Pranayama Yoga & Zen Meditation? I want to do this home (I don't have finance to enroll in a club). What do you think about the simple breathing exercise? ratio :4-5 Ratio:4-5 and so on. What is the best inhalation exhalation ratio?. I started doing a little bit Zazen but before starting the Zazen meditation I want to start with 15 mn Pranayama first. I don't want to get into any difficult breathing exercises. Thanks for your advices.
Back stretches? I have a very mild case of scoliosis, but my back still hurts when I either sit for a long time or stand [making school tough]. The lower left muscle on my back is very tight. What are some simple exercise/stretches I could do to keep my back feeling good during school? Thanks. (ohh.. and I don't know if it matters, but i'm 14, play tennis, and am very active... i don't sit around all day or anything) Also... I am going to take up yoga so that should help. But, I need something quick and simple to do in school. Thanks!
Can you help me sort out my eating and exercise habits? I'm sixteen years old, 5'4" and I weight about 130 lbs. You may find this a "normal weight" but I have flab, excess weight, or something on my thighs, arms, and stomach. I want to get rid of that and have a "fit" body by memorial day. Eating wise, I do not eat breakfast because I simply have no time before school to do so ( with getting dressed and makeup. ) At lunch, I usually skip it too during school ( my friends worry about an eating disorder. ) . But I do eat directly afterschool.. but fast food. ( McDonald's, Chick-fil-a, Sonic ) Then at dinner, I eat a normal meal with vegatables and all, except I don't eat any red meat at all. Snackwise, I usually eat a bowl of cereal before I go to bed around 11. Exercise is difficult. Where I live I can't simply walk or run a few miles. I do however dance. But that does not really get me going. I need some simple exercise methods to try in order to reach my goal. I am thinking about pickng up yoga. What do all of you suggest I do?
New at dieting, help!? So I have never had to diet/watch what I eat or exercise much before. But after getting married, having a baby and becoming a stay at home mom the weight has piled on in the last 4 years. I went from 125lbs to 150. I love all fruit and veggies, eggs, nuts, fish, but my weakness' are pasta, potatoes, rice, and bread, (which i have learned are not all that good for you) So can someone suggest an easy to follow, not to expensive diet. A simple Meal plan to follow to lose the weight. I will also be doing walking in the evenings and light exercises in the morning (5 lb. hand weights for various exercises, yoga ball and mat for abs, things like that) help me please!
What should I do? My parents always keep scolding on me.They always invastigate what I am doing.Even my personalities such as letters and all these, they look when I'm not at home.I'm 23 and I think I should have a bit of privacy. My daily routine is very simple. I get up at 6:30am and doing one exercise( Yoga, weight lifting, running, swimming and cycling ).After that I have to study until I go to school. When I come back from school, after dinner,I study again. But sometimes I use computer for entertainment (listening music, chatting with friends, surfing adults sites ). However, if my parents find I'm using computer, they lose their tempers and get angry easily. Am I wrong that I just use computer for 3 days per week and just for 2 hours each times? Is it a guilt to surf adult sites for 23 years old in that duration(2 hrs)? Before I use computer for surfing adult sites,I used to play computer games that they didn't like. They hate drinking. They even didn't like chatting with my girl friends online.
Do you know what are your bad habits using the horoscope?? Aries Out in Front Rams have a habit of pushing to the front of the line, both literally and figuratively. And while this quality has helped Aries get ahead, it can also compromise their relationships. Putting an animal, child or plant in their care can correct the problem. As soon as this sign's nurturing qualities are cultivated, their selfishness will diminish. • Taurean Trash Bulls love clutter. Being surrounded by all their possessions gives them a sense of security. It also creates headaches, confusion, and chaos. Storage systems that keep their stuff on display will prevent this sign from strewing their stuff all over the house. Stacking baskets, glass jars, and open shelving can promote organization. • Nerve-Wracking Twins Geminis are the nail-biters of the zodiac. Twins are self-conscious about their hands, and need to keep them busy at all times. Activities like knitting, carving, or bead work provide welcome distractions. Weekly manicures will also keep temptation at bay. Twins are less likely to gnaw their cuticles when they've just paid for their upkeep! • Cancers and the Candyman If you've ever wondered how Cancers stay so sweet, take a look at their sugar intake. This sign loves cookies, candy, and ice cream. An occasional indulgence is fine, but too much dessert can take a toll on waist lines and energy levels. What Crabs are really seeking is oral gratification. Sugar-free gum or dried fruit provides a healthy distraction from candy crunching. • Lavish Leos The guy who's sitting next to you in the elegant restaurant, shouting to his personal assistant on his cell phone? Probably a Leo. It's only natural that a sign that is blessed with creativity, charm and wit feels tempted to show off. Actually, this desire to brag is rooted in insecurity. The sooner Lions learn to compliment others, the quicker they'll receive the praise they crave. • Virgos Fear Filth These nit-pickers sometimes compromise their own pleasure for the sake of perfection. Deep down inside, these folks are really sensualists at heart. They need to learn that it is better to feel good than to look good. Allocating a few minutes each day for fun but messy activities like baking, painting, or sculpting can cure Virgos of their fear of filth. • Libras Love to Shop Librans gave birth to the term "shopaholic". These folks have every credit card known to man. And while their taste is undeniably impeccable, it can get them in trouble at bankruptcy court. What's really at stake here is a quest for beauty. Enjoying simple but inexpensive pleasures like nature walks and museums can quell the urge to splurge. • Strictly Scorpios Nobody carries a grudge better than this sign. Unfortunately, hanging on to resentments has a way of crowding out love, happiness, and trust. In order for a Scorpio to let go of anger, they must first practice self-care. Getting a massage every month or writing in a journal each day will soften this sign's heart and enable forgiveness. • Brutally Honest Sagittarius Archers have a bad habit of telling the truth. And while these folks have the best intentions, that doesn't take the sting out of comments like, "Gee, those pants make you look fat!" or "Were you drunk when you wrote this report?" The best way for Archers to cultivate tact is through prodigious study. Etiquette books will definitely help! • Capricorns Can't Quit This sign is the original workaholic. Many Capricorns fear that poverty will set in the moment they stop toiling. Keeping a gratitude journal can break this terrible habit. The more Capricorn becomes aware of their non-material blessings, the healthier their behavior will become. No more cutting vacations short for the sake of work! • Antisocial Aquarius Water-bearers get into the habit of creating completely self-sufficient lives. Unfortunately, this makes it difficult for them to achieve intimacy. Basically, Aquarians are afraid that relationships will compromise their independence. Fortunately, these folks love to experiment. By treating intimacy as an exercise, this sign can relinquish control for the sake of loving relationships. • Pickled Pisces As a water sign, it's only natural that Pisceans find comfort in liquids. When those liquids have a high alcohol content, problems can ensue. Naturally, a twelve-step program can be of enormous benefit here. Meditation and yoga can help, too, as they allow Pisces to achieve a healthy sense of nirvana. That's all these Fish are really seeking.

when nothing works? i have horrible bouts of depression, where i feel everything's hopeless, i shouldn't continue living, etc. in the past i've even cut myself (a habit i no longer continue). the strange thing is that i can recognize my own symptoms and i know deep down what i should do, but i cant bring the rest of me to accept it. am i bipolar or something? it's like part of me wants to be strong and pull through hard times and the rest of me is just pathetic and self loathing. it's definitely caused a strain on previous relationships too. i've tried medications, homeopathic treatments, psychiatry, exercise, yoga, and just simple prayer but it's still a major problem in my life. any tips? i think i might be bipolar b/c i have a very bad temper that is hard to control, i'm possessive and sometimes controling. i know this b/c everyone said the last guy i dated and i were so similar in our behavior and that we should both get help.
Is this a good diet plan, lots of swimming? I go swimming everyday after school (except thursday, friday and sunday). In the water I swim around in a fast pace and stay for like a few hours. And I walk to school and back (10 mins) everyday. Also I have a long leisurly walk after dinner. I do sports at (once a week) school - at the moment trampolining. I try to do simple exercises like starjumps, streches, jogging, yoga. WHAT I EAT: breakfast: A glass of milk snack: a peice of fruit. Lunch: Vegetarian meal or main meal - that could be - rice with sauce, pie, pasta, like that, and it also comes with vegetables - which I always get. Dinner: Something that I didnt have at lunch . I usually eat like chicken and rice OR fish and salad OR chicken burger and potatoes (homemade). IS THAT OK? WHAT ELSE CAN I DO TO LOOSE A LOT OF WEIGHT LIKE LOOSE 2 STONES? p.s I drink a lot of water and natural juice and I live in a small flat - so I cant do like walking up the stairs. Also I cant wake up early and go running in the park.. I am 13 - and what shall I eat for breakfast? And lunch is a meal like a plate, but it comes with veg and I eat that. I did join a childrens gym - but there were gangs messing about there and it was expsive and none of the people who work there was nice. So I quit

Are there workout videos for the plus-size woman which compensates for lack of mobility? I dont mean sitting the whole time or anything like that; I have purchased several pilates and yoga videos, but havent been succesful as my moderate size (US womans 22) makes some exercises difficult. I have no doubt they are simple for leaner body types, but I am hoping there may be something out there for those of us looking to make a significant body change. I appreciate your help!
